Creston now has three high-speed Electric Vehicle charging stations; two at the Chamber of Commerce Office on Northwest Boulevard, and a third in the Cook Street Parking Lot in the downtown core. There is a Tesla Fast-charge unit downtown, and both a Tesla and a ____ at the Chamber office. Travelers with long range battery electric vehicles, and those with plug-in hybrids can now charge their vehicles while stopping in Creston for half an hour or so – time for a coffee break! The installation of these charging stations was completed on September 30, and have already seen use.

Hopefully we will soon see further charging stations in Grand Forks, Salmo, Nelson, and Yahk or Moyie, in addition to those in Greenwood, Castlegar, Trail, Rossland, Cranbrook and Invermere to facilitate those with shorter range vehicles.
