
QR Code - It's like a Barcode, but square! QR codes also can hold much more information than a barcode. While a barcode translates simply to a number, a QR code can be used for so much more. While in many instances QR codes translate a web URL, they were created by Denso Wave, to mark components in order to speed logistic processes in automobile production, as barcodes were simply not able to provide the breadth of information needed to manage a parts supply for multiple production lines. QR stands for Quick Response, and since its inception in 1994 has spread around the world ,and is an international standard.
