RadioAtlantic

So....., I've been missing my regular dose of Newfoundland music ever since the CJYQ stream switched to country music from a rotation of Newfoundland Traditional music. Frequent searches for similar music on any of number of Radio Apps found nothing; apparently the ones I used include regular broadcast radio station feeds, but not Internet only streaming services.

I had reviewed the Easy Coast Music Awards site, but found no streaming options, so out of desperation, I did a general Internet search for Canada Eastcoast Music Streaming and discovered RadioAtlantic, an Internet-only radio station created by a fellow former CHMR (MUN Radio) station manager, Mac Day. Like many of us, Mac has been around a bit, and has now settled in Victoria, PEI (population 77), where, amongst other things, he operates RadioAtlantic.

RadioAtlantic offers two streams of East Coast music: Contemporary and Traditional, both showcasing Eastern Canadian musicians. The Contemporary stream showcases Atlantic Canada's best and newest rock, blues and alternative musicians, singers and songwriters including Joel Plaskett, Hey Rosetta!, Great Big Sea, Dave Gunning, David Myles and many more. The Traditional stream features Atlantic Canada's best and newest traditional, folk, bluegrass and country musicians such as: Catherine MacLelland, Rose Cousins, Natalie MacMaster, and Stompin' Tom Connors.   I've been enjoying the RadioAtlantic stream for a few days now, and am looking forward to many hours of enjoyment.

If you enjoy listening to Canadian East Coast music as much as I, check it out!

Thanks Mac!
