July 28 is 6 months since retiring from Interior Health; what have I learned?
- I didn't need as much gross income as when working. In the first two months of retirement, I drove fewer than 500 km. Having to pay my own Medical Plan Fees, instead of it being deducted at source was an unexpected surprise.
- I'm walking more.
- The lack of structure in my days led to fewer posts here!
- I have avoided taking on many new tasks.
- A few projects around the house have been completed: a new headboard for the apartment bed, TV installation in the 5th wheel, and some greater involvement in church and the Masonic Lodge. The front lawn has been rebuilt
- Travel times for trips have become a lot easier. No longer having to worry about my work hours has meant travel to various destinations can happen at a more leisurely pace, rather than being tied to weekends.
- The amount of relaxation I have experienced is exquisite!
